Travel

By Air

Direct flights are available to Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport (ITH) from Philadelphia (through American Eagle), Detroit (through Delta Connection), and Newark (through United Express). Local ground transportation is provided by TCAT; route 32 stops at the airport and at Cornell University on weekdays; route 72 serves the airport and Cornell on weekends. Several taxi companies also serve the airport in Ithaca, including A+ Taxi (607-533-8294), ASAP Cab (607-272-7222), Collegetown Cab (607-588-8888), Ithaca Dispatch (607-277-7777 or 607-272-3333), and Green Hornet Taxi Cab (607-280-3779). Uber and Lyft offer services in Ithaca and are often cheaper than getting a taxi, depending on the time of day.

By Bus

Several intercity bus companies offer cheaper alternatives, including Greyhound, ShortLine, and OurBus. There is also an express Campus-to-Campus bus and between New York City and Cornell's Ithaca Campus as well as the Big Red Bullet. It takes about 4 hours to get to Ithaca from New York City by bus.

By Car

Ithaca is about a four hour drive from New York City and Philadelphia, and a six hour drive from Boston, Washington DC, and Montreal.

Getting Around Ithaca

In addition to taxis (see above) and hotel shuttles, Ithaca is served by TCAT. Route 10, Route 30, and Route 31 offer service between Downtown Ithaca and Cornell's campus. Uber and Lyft now offer services in Ithaca.

Downtown Ithaca is a very walkable area, with easy access to restaurants and shops. A fairly steep hill (+/- 500 feet in elevation) separates Downtown Ithaca from Cornell's campus. Walking from downtown to campus typically takes 20-30 minutes.
